Annual Meeting virtual sessions: Earn CPD credit from your computer

Ben Wolzenski outlines the virtual sessions available if you are unable to attend the Annual Meeting.

by Ben H. Wolzenski, Chairperson, 2011 Annual Meeting Program Committee

BenWolzenski If you can’t make it to the SOA Annual Meeting & Exhibit in October, there is an alternative! The SOA will be offering six select sessions virtually. This means you can watch live video broadcasts from the meeting, participate in the session as it takes place in Chicago and ask questions of the speakers via email. Video, audio and the PowerPoint slides will be streamed through your computer while the session is taking place on-site. All that is required is a computer with sound card and Internet access. It’s an easy, affordable option if you can’t join us in Chicago and will help you keep current on new developments. Each session is an opportunity to earn 1.50 CPD credits.

We’ve tried to select a diverse offering so that there’s something for everyone. This year’s virtual sessions include these Oct. 17 sessions:

In This for Life: Life Product Development Trends and Issues
ERM Standards of Practice—A Socratic Dialogue
Moving from Accumulation to Consumption

And these Oct. 18 sessions:
Public Pension Plans—Financing, Accounting and a Framework for Risk Management
Implementing Health Care Reform in the Real World
CEO Forum

I hope you’ll take advantage of this opportunity to be a part of the SOA 2011 Annual Meeting & Exhibit by registering soon for these sessions.

Sharing is caring.
